Jason specializes in capturing travel memoirs via his camera, candid moments, portrait photography in natural environments, product photography, and fine art photography.  Jason shoots all-digital, and minimizes the use of flashes for more natural light whenever possible.

He casually shot Canon film cameras for over a decade.  In the spring of 2006, he started off in digital photography by taking an 8-week course titled "Basic Digital Photography" at the Smithsonian Institution.  Since then he has taken many more Smithsonian and Nikon courses, and was awarded first place and third place in Smithsonian photography competitions.  He is an advanced amateur with a day job that includes photograph, and a love of photography.  This website has his "best of" photos, but you can view his much more substantial stream-of-consciousness photostream here.

He shoots a Nikon D700 camera body, and his lenses include a Nikon 24-70mm AF-S f/2.8, Nikon 70-200mm f/2.8 ED VRII, Nikon 50mm f/1.4, Nikon 105mm f/2.8 Micro/Macro (non-VR).  He also uses Nikon SB-600 flashes with a Gary Fong Lightsphere II when necessary. For more substantial lighting, he uses four Paul C. Buff White Lightning Ultra 800 strobes with various umbrellas and adapters.
